Our Projects
- Kingston InSightS Project
There is no denying that spending time in a federal
prison has profound effects on how one sees the world.
Because
Kingston is home to at least six prisons, it is also
home to a large and diverse community of ex-convicts,
some still on parole and many who have remained here
because of the famous "Kingston glue." They
like it and have put down roots. Clarke Mackey is working
with two men and three women from this community. The
final work is a video made up of sequences of still
photographs that tell stories and ignite passions, taken
by each the participants. Each participant will also
narrate or otherwise provide audio and textual accompaniment
to their sequence.
