KAC Awards
for Excellence in the Arts

Here is a follow up of Thursday's extremely successful
kick-off to the First Annual Awards for Excellence in
the Arts!
Over 70 people were in attendance at Tango on the 25th
of March to provide support for the Awards kick-off!
Cliff Edwards was the MC for the event, while KAC president
Thais Donald and KAC Executive Director Bonnie Long
delivered speeches regarding the Ceremony and the Arts
in Kingston. Councillor Ed Smith also spoke on behalf
of City Council.
" The Gala will not only feature local nominees"
said Cliff Edwards, "but also an incredible night
of entertainment and celebration featuring:
Second City veteran Deborah Kimmett as the MC, Juno
nominated performer Georgette Fry providing some musical
entertainment, and surprise special guests!"
Michael George provided the entertainment for the event
with a great musical set before and after the speeches.
Local artist, Fred Hedgcock was on hand as the Kingston
Arts Council unveiled the official Award for the Ceremony
to be held on June 4th, 2004 at the Holiday Inn Kingston
water front. Fred's design for the award was chosen
among a dozen other entries to be the official award
for the ceremony.
