Union Gallery
In the Main Gallery the Union
Gallery presents 24/7 an exhibition by 1st year Fine Arts students
on view from April 7-28, 2006.
24/7 is a group exhibition by twenty-four 1st year Fine Art students
that includes work produced over the course of seven months.
In the Project Room, the Union Gallery presents an presentation
of documentation from the Out of Site: art negotiating neglected
spaces project by 4th year BFA students Lisa Visser, Talie Shalmon
and Samantha Mogelonsky, starting March 25th, 2006.
Out of Site is an off-site series of contemporary and temporary
art projects presented in out of the way, overlooked and/or transitory
spaces around Queen's University campus starting March 25th through
April 17th, 2006. Three artists from the Fine Arts program at Queen's
will install temporary artworks which animate and respond to the
sites. The interior space of the project room will operate as a hub
where documentation about the three off site locations will be located.

A reception for both exhibitions will be held on Saturday, March
25, 6-8pm. in the gallery, which is located on the 1st floor of the
Stauffer Library (corner of Union and University). A map and tour
of the Out of Site projects will be avaialble at the reception.

The BFA class of
2006 presents the annual open studio exhibition at Ontario Hall (67
University Avenue)
on the Queen’s University main
campus, April 24th to 28th from 9 am to 5 pm daily. Please join us on
Friday, April 28th from 6-8pm for the closing reception where visitors
will have the opportunity to meet and speak with the emerging artists.
The work covers areas of art from drawing and painting, sculpture, and
installation to printmaking, performance and video art. Be sure not to
miss so much talent gathered under one roof!
